5 Fairfield Elementary Schools Among CT's 50 Best: New Report

Four of the five elementary schools are in the top 25, according to U.S. News & World Report.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Five of Fairfield's public elementary schools are considered among the 50 best in Connecticut, according to a new ranking from U.S. News & World Report.

Sherman School (#4 in the state); Dwight Elementary School (#12); Burr Elementary School (#21); Holland Hill School (#25); and Jennings School (#37) were highlighted in the new report.

New Canaan's West School was named the top public elementary school in Connecticut. Rounding out the top 5 were Washington Primary School (#2) in Washington Depot; Riverside School (#3) in Greenwich; Sherman; and Farmingville Elementary School (#5) in Ridgefield.

U.S. News researchers based the 2025 ranking of the nation’s best public elementary schools on publicly available data from the U.S. Department of Education. For this ranking, elementary schools are considered K-6.

In a statement to Patch, Fairfield Superintendent of Schools Michael J. Testani said the district is proud of the accomplishment.

"We are pleased to be included in the latest U.S. News & World Report," Testani said. "Our exceptional educators and staff members are dedicated to fostering a love of learning that will help students be successful both now and in the future. We are very proud of all of our schools for providing the high-quality education that our children deserve."
