One-piece swimsuits are expected to dominate the beach this summer, according to Letarte Swimwear co-owner Michele Ross.
Crocheted and cut-out one-pieces are especially popular. Cut-out suits are big sellers at Letarte this season, Ross said.
Retro silhouettes and high-waisted bottoms paired with bandeau tops (pictured) are also big this year.
Ross, who co-owns Letarte with her sister, Lisa Cabrinha (who heads the Maui flagship store), offered some tips for those searching for the perfect swimsuit:
- Go shopping for a swimsuit with a friend;
- Apply self-tanner the night before if you'd like to see how the suit will look on a tan;
- Avoid this common mistake: picking out bottoms that are too big. More fabric in that area doesn't help appearances - pick a bottom that fits.
