Bomb Squad Tech Called in to Dispose of Artillery Shell in Fairfield
The shell was found in the attic of a Reef Road home. It did not appear to be a threat or concern, police said.

A State Police Bomb Squad technician was called to Reef Road in Fairfield Wednesday to dispose of a 37mm artillery shell found in the complainant's attic, police said.
The Reef Road resident noticed the shell, which had been left by a family member. Investigators determined that the shell dated back to either WWII or the Vietnam War and did not appear to be a threat or concern, department spokesperson Sgt. Sue Lussier said.
The technician, at the request of the complainant, disposed of the shell without incident.
