Congressman Jim Himes Endorses Rob Blanchard For State Senate
Congressman Himes joins a growing list of organizations and supporters who have endorsed Blanchard to be their next state senator.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Underscoring his commitment to addressing the rising costs of utilities, housing, healthcare, and childcare, and growing Connecticut’s economy, U.S. Congressman Jim Himes, D-CT, endorsed Rob Blanchard for Connecticut’s 28th State Senate District.
“I’ve known Rob for a long time. He is laser-focused on our economy, on growth, and making sure that we address the affordability problem, both in terms of housing and healthcare, and all of those areas where families sometimes struggle to make ends meet,” said Congressman Himes. “I am so excited to work with Rob when he is in the State Senate, and together we can really make progress for the people of the 28th State Senate District.”

Blanchard launched his campaign for the State Senate in January. If elected, he will:
- Address the rising costs of utilities, housing, healthcare, and childcare head-on to make Connecticut more affordable.
- Grow Connecticut’s economy and make the state more business-friendly.
- Strengthen Connecticut’s standing as a national leader on gun safety, women’s healthcare, and reproductive rights, including IVF.
- Protect Connecticut’s environment, farms, open spaces, and coastline.
Blanchard was endorsed as the Democratic candidate for Connecticut’s 28th state Senate District in May.
Congressman Himes joins a growing list of organizations and supporters who have endorsed Blanchard to be their next state senator. Supporters include AFL-CIO, Moms Demand Action, Fairfield First Selectman Bill Gerber, Fairfield Selectman Christine Vitale, Easton First Selectman Dave Bindelglass, Easton Selectman Nick D’Addario, Newtown Selectman Michelle Embree Ku, Newtown Selectman Dan Cruson, and former Bethel First Selectman Matt Knickerbocker.

Rob Blanchard, a member of Fairfield’s RTM, is a candidate for Connecticut’s 28th State Senate District. Bringing a unique background of public and private sector experience, Rob is running to address the high-cost of living in Connecticut by ensuring taxes remain stable and predictable for seniors and fighting for increased municipal aid, so local leaders aren’t faced with raising property taxes or reducing education funding.
