A Fairfield man was charged with breach of peace Sunday following a road rage incident and was further charged for allegedly striking his wife, police said.
Police responded to a 911 call regarding two men fighting on Knapps Highway, according to the report. When police arrived on scene, they found a man -- later identified as Adis Radoncic, 32, of Campfield Drive -- pushing his car, Deputy Police Chief Chris Lyddy said. Radoncic told police that his wife and children had taken the keys and left him at the scene.

Radoncic also told police that another driver had cut his vehicle off by making a U-turn in front of Radoncic's car, according to the report. He told police that he and the other driver both got out of their respective vehicles and the other driver had kicked him in the groin.
Two witnesses, however, told police that it was Radoncic who followed the other car into a driveway, got out of his vehicle, approached the other driver, and threw some punches, Lyddy said.

Police tracked down the other driver, who corroborated the witnesses' accounts, according to the report.
Officers than asked Radoncic about his wife and children, who witnesses said had fled from the car at some point during the incident. They were able to arrange a meeting with his wife, who had suffered a chipped tooth and a cut lip because Radoncic had allegedly struck her in the face, police said.
Police determined the Radoncic struck his wife in front of their two children sometime before he got out of his car and reportedly assaulted the other driver, Lyddy said.
Radoncic was charged with disorderly conduct, third-degree assault, and two counts of risk of injury to a minor for allegedly striking his wife, according to the report.
He was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court today.
