Yes. First elected to Fairfield RTM IN 2015. Elected continuously since that date
Why are you seeking this office?
Fairfield relies on citizen volunteers to fill boards and commissions and be elected to certain positions. These volunteers bring their expertise and service at no cost to the taxpayer. I enjoy helping my neighbors with issues that come up.
The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:
Upgrading/replacing aging infrastructure
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I am a effective listener. I have a good grasp of the facts so I can help constituents understand issues and work together to arrive at solutions. I don’t try to be all things to all people.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Foster respect between the varied communities that make up District 9. In our divided moment in history, someone like me, who has lived in our current home for 35 years, can help to encourage productive conversation
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
My voting history shows that I have helped keep any tax increase to a minimum. I have worked in ordinances that are critical to safety and quality of life. And additionally I have spent the time needed to get approved/secure funding for various neighborhood needs. These include: fence around Sherman school playground, painting of “slow school zone” on Beach and Judson roads, trash can at the corner of Birch and Fairfield Beach Rd. , 4 way stopd crosswalk at Beach/Sunnie Home, flashing crosswalk in Old Post Rd by St Paul’s Nursery School. I have also helped with sidewalk work and repair and other various neighborhood repairs. I do all this by listening to my neighbors needs!
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Shut up and listen.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
Fairfield has been my home for 35 years. I love this community and its diversity of background and interests. I am grateful to live here
