Why are you seeking this office?
To continue my 13-year record of service to the town, and in this election as an incumbent legislative (RTM) representative, a job I love. As I did while Majority Leader, I will again encourage bipartisan and collaborative governance on the body. I will continue to explore initiatives that improve the quality of life for all residents and to address the specific concerns of our local district constituents. I am devoted to making sound fiscal investments in town services and operations, and to make every tax dollar count.
The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:
In my district, flooding from the Rooster River is a grave concern. I am proud to have voted in favor of mitigation projects to minimize flooding. I also support the schools, library and infrastructure projects in my district to ensure our community thrives from smart investment.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
My long-time experience serving on town boards sets me apart. I have been voting on budgets, expenditures and legislation since 2013.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Affordability and safe streets. These two issues will ensure we remain an attractive place to live, raise a family and work. Future economic development and stable taxes depend on growing our grand list responsibly. Focusing on ways to make our streets safer for cars, walkers and bikers is essential to a healthy community.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I have voted on 11 budgets, countless bonding expenditures, participated in Capital Planning Workshops and have helped write ordinances and legislation that focused on problem solving and quality of life. In my professional life I managed global trade logistics and developed a deep knowledge of economics and corporate finance.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. This is how I strive to live in all areas of my life; in work, at home and in the community.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I love hearing from my constituents and having the opportunity to address concerns, solve problems and make life even greater in Fairfield. I have a record of serving in a bipartisan, collaborative and inclusive manner. I embrace the spirit of Better Together.
