Cybersecurity To Be Discussed At Event Hosted By Fairfield University

"Cybersecurity: Protecting Yourself in a Digital World," scheduled for this month, is part of the university's free Campus Connect Series.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield University will host a community discussion on Feb. 25 on how to stay safe in the digital world.

"Cybersecurity: Protecting Yourself in a Digital World" is scheduled for 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. upstairs at the downtown Fairfield University Store at 1499 Post Road. Panelists will discuss phishing scams, dating online, important data privacy, and artificial intelligence.

The event is part of the university's Campus Connect Series, and it will be led by Mirco Speretta, PhD, associate dean of Fairfield University's School of Engineering & Computing. Joining Speretta will be Fairfield Police Detective Brian Griffin and Fairfield Police Public Affairs Sergeant Jenna Wellington.

"Join the conversation with local experts as they dive into the essentials of safeguarding your digital presence in today's world," organizers wrote in a statement.

Those attending are asked to park in the rear parking garage and enter the bookstore through the parking garage entrance. Stairs and an elevator allow for access to the upstairs event space. Light refreshments will be served.

The free Campus Connect Series merges the expertise of Fairfield University faculty and staff with the experience and knowledge of local community leaders.
