Grab your coffee! It’s time for the Big Read!

Calling all book lovers: the Big Read 24-hour read-a-thon needs you!


Grab some coffee! Everyone’s invited to participate in this ’round-the-clock read-a-thon, starting at high noon on Monday, October 22 at the University of Bridgeport Cox Student Center, 244 University Avenue.


Read as long as you want, listen, and have fun as members of the community take turns reading aloud from Ray Bradberry’s novel Fahrenheit 451.

Free food from Fat Cat Pizza, Taco Loco, Dunkin’ Donuts, and Amici Miei Cafe will keep everyone going as we make our way through this timeless classic.


It’s all a part of Big Read, the National Endowment for the Arts campaign that invites communities to read the same book together.

The 2012 Big Read in Bridgeport is presented by the University of Bridgeport, The Barnum Museum, Bijou Theatre, Bridgeport Arts + Cultural Council, Bridgeport Board of Education, Bridgeport Public Education Fund, Bridgeport Public Library, City Lights Gallery, Downtown Special Services District, First Book Fairfield County, The Klein, WPKN, WSHU, and Hearst Media.


Can’t be there in person? Tune in as we broadcast the first hour of The Big Read community read-a-thon live on WPKN 89.5 FM! FREE. 89.5.
