Fairfield Democrats Honor Members At Century Club Brunch
The event was held last weekend at The Patterson Club in Fairfield.

FAIRFIELD, CT — The Fairfield Democratic Town Committee (DTC) celebrated the exceptional contributions of two of its own at the 2023 Century Club Brunch held at The Patterson Club on Sunday, June 9. Fairfield Selectman Christine Tomaselli Vitale and DTC intern Danielle Kanter were both recognized for their outstanding service to the Party and the community.
Special guest speakers included several esteemed Connecticut officials, including Governor Ned Lamont, Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz, Attorney General William Tong, Comptroller Sean Scanlon, and Treasurer Erick Russell. Proclamations were presented by State Representatives Jennifer Leeper and Sarah Keitt. Fairfield First Selectman Bill Gerber, State Senate candidate Rob Blanchard, and Judge of Probate candidate Kathy Caulfield also spoke in recognition of the honorees and their contributions. Connecticut Democratic Party Chair Nancy J. DiNardo, Vice Chair Jimmy Tickey, and numerous other elected officials and community leaders attended in celebration of the honorees. DTC Chairman Steven Sheinberg emceed the successful fundraiser, which featured inspiring speeches, exquisite food and drink, and a convivial atmosphere of camaraderie.

Fairfield Selectman Christine Vitale was honored with The Eunice Postol Award, given annually to a Democrat who has exemplified Eunice Postol’s undying dedication to community service. Christine’s extensive 25+ year history of community service began with the Junior League of Eastern Fairfield County, where she served on the Executive Board and received their Service Award in 2005. Her leadership continued through various roles in the PTA and as a Girl Scout leader, culminating in her election to the Board of Education, where she served as Chair for four of her six years. Christine’s recent election to the Board of Selectmen and her ongoing involvement with the Fairfield CARES Community Coalition exemplify her unwavering commitment to Fairfield.
Danielle Kanter was honored with the Denise Dougiello Young Leadership Award, given annually to a newer member who has made exceptional contributions toward meeting the DTC’s goals and objectives. Since walking through the doors of DTC headquarters in 2020, Danielle has been a driving force within the Party, supporting campaigns up and down the ballot. In addition to interning for the DTC (and Co-Chairing the Intern Committee in 2023), Danielle has also served as an intern for U.S. Congressman Himes as well as for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. She was awarded the 2024 Monaco Civics Award by the CT Bar Association in recognition of her civic engagement and is in the top 10 of her senior class at Fairfield Ludlowe High School where she has been a member of the FLHS mock trial and Model U.N. teams, and Opinions Editor for the FLHS news site. She will attend the University of Pennsylvania in the fall, studying Politics, Philosophy, and Economics: Public Policy and Governance.
