Fairfield FEMA Center to Close Dec. 19

The Small Business Administration's Fairfield office will close on Dec. 28.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Disaster Recovery Center at the Fairfield Senior Center (100 Mona Terrace) will remain open to residents and businesses through Wednesday, Dec. 19, according to a release from the First Selectman's Office.

The Center will remain open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Saturday.

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) office at the Senior Center will remain open through Friday, Dec. 28. The hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and it will be closed on Christmas Day.

For more information, homeowners and renters may call the SBA at 800-659-2955 or visit www.sba.gov/sandy. They may also visit SBA's secure website to apply online for disaster loans.

The deadline to register for FEMA or SBA loans is Dec. 31. Anyone interested in going to the FEMA center in Fairfield before it closes must file a claim with the agency before visiting the center. Head to the agency's website or call 1-800-621-3362 to register with FEMA.
