Fairfield Library Announces Winners of Writing Contest
This year, the contest's theme, based on Jon Ronson's "So You've Been Publicly Shamed," was judgment.

From Fairfield Public Library:
Each year, once the One Book One Town selection has been announced by the Fairfield Public Library, a writing contest is also announced on a prominent theme from the chosen book. This year’s book, "So You’ve Been Publicly Shamed" by Jon Ronson, an engrossing piece of adult non-fiction, is an investigation of the way people interact online in the age of instant communication and snap judgment. This brought us to the theme of this year’s writing contest: judgment. Contestants were invited to share an unpublished work of 500 words or less on this topic.
The winners were Susan Mudd, first place; Alice Katz, second place, and John Hanninen, third place. The winners were invited to attend a reception with author Jon Ronson when he visited Fairfield on March 8 and to read their works at the Library on the evening of March 16.
