“For nearly two decades, Alexis Harrison has been an advocate for our community and for our State – from her work with Fairfielders Protecting Land & Neighborhoods, to her role on the Fairfield Town Plan & Zoning Commission, and her unabashed advocacy for local land-use, she’s always there for us. As a state representative, Alexis will bring fresh perspective, new new ideas, and dedicate herself to listening to and informing residents on important bills and much more. I am very pleased to see her running for the 132nd General Assembly seat and confident in her abilities,” said James Millington, also a former member of the Representative Town Meeting.

A lifelong resident, Harrison currently has three generations of her family residing in Fairfield, which brings a holistic understanding of the distinct needs of senior citizens, families and children.
“I am very humbled to receive the nomination as I believe in the positive powers of public service and the importance of being an advocate for our community. Our campaign will be grounded in positivity, a commitment to our community and focusing on the unique needs of the residents of Fairfield and Southport, said Harrison. “I will be vigilant to make sure that new bills intended to solve one problem don't create another- you may call this the ‘murphy’s law of legislation’. This past session too many bills were too broad, too abrupt, and came with real world unanticipated consequences. We need to avoid the tendency to add to the state bureaucracy with new programs and mandates, often with no accountability or real cost-benefit analysis. We can solve problems without imposing undue burdens on local communities.”
Election Day will be held on Tuesday, November 5th but this year, Connecticut will roll out early voting for the first time, letting residents vote before the 2024 election from Oct. 21 to Nov. 3. For questions on early voting, please call the Fairfield Registrar of Voters office at 203-256-3115
