Fairfield Police Department Hiring New Officers
Starting salary for a Fairfield police officer is more than $75,000, according to officials.

FAIRFIELD, CT — The Fairfield Police Department is on the lookout to hire new officers, as a few current members of the Force prepare to retire, Patch has learned.
Currently, the Fairfield Police Department has 112 sworn officers, in addition to civilian staff that assist with day-to-day operations.
According to Sgt. Jenna Wellington, the department is creating a list of eligible recruits in anticipation of filling the positions that become available due to retirements.

Starting salary for a Fairfield police officer is $75,241, and it can rise to $91,941 over 20 years. The department is looking for both entry level recruits and already-certified officers, Wellington said.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens who are at least 21 years old, and they must have completed high school or obtained a GED.
In addition to patrol officers and detectives, the Fairfield Police Department also has several special divisions, including the Marine Unit, Motorcycle Unit, Drone Unit, Crisis Intervention Team, K-9 Unit, and Regional Emergency Response Team, among others.
