Fairfield Public Library Host Summer Reading Program

June 21 will start the summer reading program with Fairfield Library at the Penfield Beach Pavilion for children entering grades K-5.

From Fairfield Library: Celebrate the start of summer with the Summer Reading Kick Off at the beach with your favorite librarians. We will meet on Wednesday, June 21 (rain date: June 22) at the new Penfield Beach Pavilion, 323 Fairfield Beach Road. Register for Summer Reading, get inked with a temporary tattoo, receive your first prize, compete in our sandcastle building competition and enjoy games on the beach.

Drop by between 10:00 am and noon, no registration required. For children entering grades K-5. Reminder to parents: a Penfield Beach Sticker is required to park.

The theme of this year’s summer reading program is “Build a Better World.” Receive a raffle ticket and a prize for every 200 minutes you read. The goal is to get to 1,000 minutes or 50 books! In addition, there are community-building activities you can do to earn raffle tickets, too. Don’t forget to check out the special summer programs: a chess club, an author visit, an amazing science of sound presentation, family bingo nights, animal visits, story times at the park and the beach, and more. Plus, look for new “School Nights” when each elementary school community is invited for a special evening at the Library.
