The program will discuss her childhood, education, and the writing of 'Uncle Tom's Cabin.'

From Fairfield Public Library: Get acquainted with Connecticut native and best-selling novelist Harriet Beecher Stowe.
Discover how Stowe was inspired to write the book Uncle Tom’s Cabin and the lasting impact of its anti-slavery message. This dynamic and engaging program will discuss her childhood, family, education, marriage and motherhood, and the writing of Uncle Tom's Cabin. Beyond the history, the program will explore contemporary connections and invite participants to think about the ways in which they can take action on an issue, just like Harriet Beecher Stowe.
