Fairfield Public Schools Teams With Cenergistic On Energy Efforts

The energy management company will help the school system implement energy conservation procedures throughout the district.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield Public Schools (FPS) has partnered with energy management company Cenergistic to audit, optimize and implement energy conservation procedures across the district. All facilities will benefit from these proven energy reducing strategies, while supporting comfortable learning spaces for students and staff. Cenergistic Energy Specialist Ms. Rachel Cerruti has joined Fairfield Public Schools as an onsite consultant.

During this partnership, Ms. Cerruti and Cenergistic engineers, technicians, and specialists will work collaboratively with FPS Custodial staff to track energy consumption at all schools utilizing state-of-the-art technology. This initiative will help identify and correct areas that need immediate attention, while providing the ability for FPS to apply savings to further reduce the district’s carbon footprint.

A critical component of Ms. Cerruti’s role is conducting energy audits to ensure that students and teachers are comfortable during class time and scheduled activities. She will also support training to help staff implement smart energy usage strategies.

Cenergistic experts cover a range of energy conservation specialties including engineers, certified energy managers, boiler specialists, heating-ventilation-air-conditioning experts, measurement and verification professionals, grounds care, and organizational behavior.

The Cenergistic program is funded from the district’s existing utility budget, with energy cost savings projected to fully cover the future cost of the program.
