Fairfield Republicans Endorse Jim Meyers After Testani Resignation
Republican Jack Testani resigned from the Fairfield Board of Finance this week.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Two days after Republican Jack Testani resigned, Fairfield Republicans are backing Jim Meyers to replace him on the Board of Finance, party officials announced.
Testani's resignation took effect immediately, but his term is not scheduled to expire until November 2025.
Meyers, who ran unsuccessfully for the board in 2023, is a Certified Public Accountant and Chief Financial Officer, who "brings a wealth of experience in finance and management."

"He is a respected member of the Fairfield community, and his professional expertise makes him exceptionally qualified to serve on the Board of Finance," the Fairfield Republican Town Committee wrote in a statement.
Meyers is a lifelong Fairfield resident, and lives with his wife, Sharon, a public school teacher. The two raised three children, all of whom attended Fairfield schools.

Testani, who had served on the Board of Finance for the past five years, is leaving the board to relocate out of town, according to Laura Devlin, Chair of the Fairfield RTC.
"Jack has been a dedicated member of the Board of Finance," Devlin said. "We are grateful for his service and while we are sorry to see him leave Fairfield, we wish him and his wife Suzanne well in their new endeavors."
Testani's replacement, who must be a Republican, requires approval by the Board of Selectmen, and the Fairfield RTC has requested that Meyers' name be placed on the agenda for the next regularly scheduled Board of Selectmen meeting for consideration.
"I'm excited about the potential opportunity to bring my experience in finance, and time on the RTM, to the Board of Finance," Meyers said in a statement during the nominating process. "As a CFO and CPA, I'm ready to help ensure that our town's financial resources are managed responsibly and transparently."
Added current Board of Finance Member, Jim Walsh, "Jim's extensive background in finance and commitment to our community will be a tremendous asset to the Board of Finance."
