911 Landline System Restored In Fairfield, State: UPDATE

Landline issues temporarily knocked out 911 landline systems throughout Connecticut on Tuesday, according to authorities. Update.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Connecticut's temporary shutdown of its 911 landline systems has been rectified, and service has been restored in Fairfield and throughout the state, according to Fairfield police.

"911 services in CT have been restored," Fairfield police wrote on Facebook Tuesday afternoon. "Please call or text 911 in an emergency. For routine calls, dial 203-254-4800. Thank you for your patience! Stay safe."

The outages lasted a few hours on Tuesday, as State officials and vendors worked to resolve the issue.
