Fairfield Student Named 2025 U.S. Presidential Scholar Candidate
The selections were announced by the White House Commission of Presidential Scholars.
FAIRFIELD, CT — A student from Fairfield has been selected as a candidate for the 2025 United States Presidential Scholars Program, according to the White House Commission of Presidential Scholars.
The student, like thousands of others from around the country, is being recognized for broad academic achievement and having scored exceptionally well on the SAT or ACT.

- Amogh V. Ganjikunta, Fairfield - Fairfield Warde High School
Through an Executive Order of the President in 1964, the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program was created to recognize and honor some of the nation’s most distinguished graduating high school seniors. It is one of the nation’s highest honors for high school students.
In 1979, the program was extended to also recognize students who demonstrate exceptional talent in the visual, creative and performing arts.

Each year, up to 161 students are named, from a pool of about 4,000 of candidates, as presidential scholars.
In addition to being named a Presidential Scholar candidate, Ganjikunta was also named a 2025 Coca-Cola Scholar, according to Fairfield Public Schools:
Congratulations to Warde High School Senior Amogh Ganjikunta on being named a 2025 Coca-Cola Scholar! Following an extremely competitive selection process including interviews with a committee of Scholar alumni and staff members, Amogh was one of 150 candidates selected. He will be honored at the 2025 Scholars Weekend April 3-6 in Atlanta. Amogh will also receive a $20,000 college scholarship.
Throughout his high school career, Amogh has demonstrated exceptional talent not only in academics but also in leadership, entrepreneurship, and by establishing his own non-profit. His passion for using technology to positively impact society, particularly in the field of education, is both inspiring and promising!
