Fairfield's Penfield Pavilion Will Open For 2025 Season: Gerber
Contaminated fill has been removed from underneath the structure.

FAIRFIELD, CT — The Penfield Pavilion in Fairfield will be open for the 2025 season, as virtually all the remediation work at the facility has been completed, First Selectman Bill Gerber announced.
The pavilion required extensive work to remove contaminated fill from underneath, once it was discovered that it was one of the sites impacted by the fill pile scandal.
"The foundation work is now 100% completed under the building and the site has been backfilled to elevation 8'," Gerber wrote in a recent town update. "The contractor is currently focused on deck framing, deck board installation, setting precast curbs, and is preparing to pave and pour sidewalks this month."
