The pair were arrested this month on warrants, according to authorities.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A father and son from Waterbury are accused of stealing tires from the Town Fair Tire store in Southport in September, Patch has learned.
Xavier Velez, and his son Xavier Alexis Velez, were arrested on warrants earlier this month on charges of sixth-degree larceny (two counts), third-degree larceny, and first-degree criminal trespass, according to Fairfield Police Sgt. Jenna Wellington.
The charges stem from two overnight thefts that occurred on Sept. 11 and Sept. 25, Wellington wrote in an email to Patch.

"Fairfield Police identified the vehicle involved in the thefts and confirmed through surveillance footage that both individuals were suspects in the incidents," Wellington said. "During the investigation, officers executed a search warrant and recovered approximately 100 used tires. Investigators then applied for arrest warrants for both thefts."
The two were released after posting bonds on bails of $15,000 each, and are scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Monday.
