Five Things: A Reprieve from Cancer

Check out "Five Things to Know" each weekday morning to plan your day.   Here are five things to know about Fairfield for Tuesday, May 14:  

1. The weather.
The National Weather Service calls for a sunny Tuesday with a high near 63.  

2. Thorpe Street.
The Town Planning and Zoning Commission will continue its deliberations on the proposed 65-unit residential complex for 185 Thorpe Street. The meeting is at 7:30 p.m. at McKinley School.  

3. A Reprieve from Cancer.
The Fairfield Public Library will host David Meth, who will present the lecture "Freeing the Heart: A Reprieve from Cancer, Writing, Relationships and Other Side Effects" at 7 p.m. in the Memorial Room of the main library.  

4. Your commute.
Check out the Department of Transportation's traffic cameras before heading to out to or from work.  

5. Social Media.
