Chic Jolie, the boutique clothing and accessories shop specializing in French apparel, has moved from Westport to Fairfield's Brick Walk promenade (next to Zane's Cycles).
"I think it's a good change," owner Alla Ionescu said.
Chic Jolie's Westport site faced both Tropical Storm Irene and Hurricane Sandy in the past two years.
"We were down for quite some time," Ionescu, a Fairfield resident, said.
They rebuilt after Irene, but after the damage wrought by Sandy to Westport's riverfront shops, it was time to make a decision.
"A small business cannot face this damage anymore," Ionescu said. "It's very expensive."
She thinks Chic Jolie will do well at the 1215 Post Road location, populated with complementary boutique shops like Vintage Garden and Pink Cupcake Shack.
The shop is set to open by the end of next week, according to Ionescu.
