Kindergarten Registration Open At Fairfield Public Schools

FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield Public Schools has opened registration for students entering kindergarten for the 2026–27 school year, with eligibility determined by a state law passed in 2023.

Under the law, children must turn 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2026, to be automatically eligible for kindergarten. Children who turn 5 between Sept. 2, 2026, and Jan. 1, 2027, may be considered through an Early Admission Waiver and assessment process. Kindergarten registration is conducted in person at the Fairfield Public Schools Central Office, located at 501 Kings Highway East, Suite 210. Visitors are required to check in using the district’s Raptor Safe App before entering the front desk area. Before visiting the office, families must complete an online pre-registration form through the district’s registration website. After completing that step, families can schedule an in-person appointment using the online appointment system. Those without access to the online system can call 203-255-8242 to make an appointment.

Fairfield Public Schools offers full-day kindergarten five days a week. The standard school day runs from 8:55 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with Holland Hill School operating from 8:10 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Classes begin on the district’s first scheduled day of school.
