LTE: Shroud Of Favoritism And Connections In Fairfield?

Dear Editor,
As a long-time resident of Fairfield, I write with a sense of concern regarding the recent developments under the newly elected First Selectman, Bill Gerber. It is disheartening to observe a growing perception of cronyism within our local administration.

The essence of good governance lies in fairness, transparency, and the collective well-being of our community. Unfortunately, recent events have given rise to questions about whether these principles are being upheld. The appointments and decisions made under the new administration seem to be veiled in a shroud of favoritism and connections.
Many of us have very busy lives and are not politically connected and our voices may not always resonate loudly, but they carry genuine concerns. It is important that we, as a community, foster an environment where decisions are made for the benefit of all, not just a select few. Cronyism erodes the trust that binds us together and undermines the foundation of democratic governance.

I implore our local leaders, including Mr. Gerber, to reflect on the importance of impartiality and inclusivity. Politically connected or not, every resident's perspective matters and decisions made in the corridors of power should reflect the diverse needs and concerns of every member of our community.
Regards,
Laurie Quick
