Man Charged with Assaulting Family Member over Music Complaint
Karl Balog, 30, allegedly assaulted a male family member after the victim asked Balog to turn down the volume of his music, police said.

A Fairfield man is accused of assaulting a family member and violating a protective order, police said.
Karl Balog, 30, of University Drive, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with third-degree assault, disorderly conduct, and violation of a protective order.

According to the police report, the 59-year-old family member asked Balog to lower the volume of his music. Balog allegedly responded physically by throwing the man to the ground and pinning him down.
The victim -- who had a protective order filed against Balog -- suffered scrapes to his elbows and scratches to his wrists, police said. The man was able to break free and run to a neighbor's house, where he called police.

Balog was held in lieu of a $10,000 bond and was scheduled to have appeared in court on Wednesday.
