Man Rescued After Being Stuck Inside A Boat In Fairfield: FD
The man was stuck inside the boat's storage compartment, according to authorities.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A man was hospitalized Saturday after Fairfield firefighters rescued him from being trapped inside the storage compartment of a boat that stowed on Burroughs Road, according to authorities.
The man's injuries were not disclosed, but he was treated at St. Vincent's Medical Center following the 12:30 p.m. rescue.
"Upon arrival, Engine-2 found a semi-responsive male stuck inside a small compartment that typically stores the boat’s anchor and chain," officials posted on the Fairfield Fire Department's Facebook page. "According to the patient's friends, he was last seen about 24-hours prior."

The circumstances of why the man was inside the storage compartment, and how long he was there, were not disclosed, but the only way into the space was through a triangular hatch approximately 18-inches by 18-inches wide, according to officials.
"The patient was removed from the boat’s storage compartment and stabilized using various lifting and moving techniques," authorities wrote. "Once the patient was out of the confined space, the patient was brought to the ground by ladder to an awaiting stretcher."
