FAIRFIELD, CT — A 22-year-old Bridgeport man was arrested on a charge of larceny of a motor vehicle, after Fairfield police spotted him in an Acura that had been reported stolen in New York, Patch has learned.

The suspect, Javon Green, told police he had bought the vehicle on Facebook.

"While on routine patrol, an officer observed a white Acura believed to be a recently stolen vehicle," Fairfield Police Sgt. Jenna Wellington said in a statement to Patch about the Aug. 7 incident. "A registration check showed the plates belonged to a different car. The officer conducted a traffic stop, confirmed the Acura was stolen out of New York, and determined it had no insurance or active registration."
