Man Shoots Ex-Girlfriend's Unoccupied Car: Fairfield Police
The man is accused of violating a protective order and is facing charges from two police departments, police said.
FAIRFIELD, CT — A Hamden man is accused of shooting the unoccupied vehicle of an ex-girlfriend, Fairfield police said.
On Oct. 19, police responded to the North Benson Road and Barlow Road area after a resident reported hearing gunshots during the overnight hours, police said.
Police said they found a vehicle with several bullet holes in a driveway nearby. Detectives learned that "this incident was targeted for a domestic relationship," police said.

A Hamden resident, who is the victim's ex-boyfriend, was linked to the shooting, police said. He had been involved with a domestic violence incident one month prior in Hamden, police said.
As a result, an active protective order was in place, protecting the victim from the accused at the time of this incident, police said.

The accused was taken into custody following the execution of the search warrants at a residence in Hamden, police said.
"During the execution of the search warrant, detectives seized several firearms, ammunition, illegal drugs, and evidence believed to connect (the accused) to the shooting," police said.
He is charged with violation of a protective order and multiple firearm and drug offenses. He is currently being held on a $1 million bond by Hamden, police said.
On Oct. 20, the Fairfield Police Detective Bureau obtained an arrest warrant for the accused, charging him with criminal possession of a firearm, violation of a protection order, and weapons in a motor vehicle, with a court set bond of $250,000, police said.
