Notre Dame Prep Announces New Coaches for 2024-25 School Year
Get to know the new coaching staff joining the ND Prep family.
Notre Dame Prep of Sacred Heart University has hired five new coaches for the 2024-25 school year. The new hires include boys’ soccer coach, Joe D’Auria; girls’ volleyball coach, Alex Xenidis; hockey coach, Mark Mongillo; girls’ basketball coach, Keishaun Macklin; and cheerleading coach, Nicole D’Angelo.
D’Auria’s coaching career spans over 30 years during which he coached at many different clubs. He currently coaches for Revolution United FC. His other credentials include a 14-year run as boys’ soccer coach at Shelton High School where they were three-time Housatonic Champions and the 2016 State Final runner-up. He was also the varsity assistant boys’ soccer coach for Trumbull High School when they won the FCIAC Championship in 2018. He says he is very happy to be part of the ND Prep family.
Xenidis was a four-year collegiate volleyball player at Rivier University where he was selected to the All Conference Team his senior year and was a four-time GNAC conference champion. His past coaching positions include JV and assistant coach at Staples High School and freshmen and assistant coach at Newtown High School. He is incredibly excited to embark on his first year as a head coach at ND Prep. “I have the pleasure of coaching a great group of hungry young athletes and am looking forward to getting the girls competing for a postseason as well as helping them grow within the sport itself,” he said.

Mongillo has been a youth hockey coach for over 10 years and has been with the Wonderland Wizard Youth Hockey Association since the organization’s inception. Mark has coached at the Pee Wee, Bantam and Girls level throughout his career at the Wizards and has won several state championships. He was head coach for the St. Joseph/Amity girls’ hockey team where they won a FCIAC Championship. He also coached for the Trumbull High School girls’ hockey team.
Macklin is a former high school and collegiate athlete with over a decade of experience in training and coaching basketball on all levels. Past girls' basketball coaching positions include Bridgeport Central High School, Weston High School and, most recently, BattleCon AAU and Wilton High School. "I'm super excited for the opportunity to lead a program with such a rich basketball history,” Macklin said. "I look forward to being part of the future of the girls’ basketball program at ND Prep."

D’Angelo is a three-time national champion from her five years as a Sacred Heart University
cheerleader. “This season is about creating a family bond that will lead us to success,” she said. "I want to help inspire young athletes to achieve their goals both on and off the mat."
