Officials Ask Businesses, Organizations to Help with Fairfield's 2014 Anniversary Celebration

Fairfield will be celebrating its 375th anniversary next year.

First Selectman Michael Tetreau invites all local organizations and businesses to be part of the 2014 community-wide commemoration of Fairfield's 375th anniversary.

Officials in the early stages of planning next year’s commemoration, encourage local organizations and businesses to consider ways to help mark this anniversary -- either by highlighting an aspect of the Fairfield's history or by celebrating its future.

“I look forward to our community coming together to celebrate our own’s rich heritage and tremendous achievements," First Selectman Michael Tetreau said in a release from the First Selectman's Office.

"This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the many wonderful aspects of our town. I am certain this year-long commemoration will be a wonderful occasion for everyone.”

The town will work with participating organizations and businesses to promote their events and activities as part of the year-long commemoration.

Any organization or business interested in participating in Fairfield’s 375th celebration should email fairfield375@gmail.com by May 1, 2013 and includes the following information:

  • The name of your organization or business;
  • The contact person with a phone number and email address;
  • A short list of ideas on how you’d like to participate in the 375th commemoration, if you have any at this time.
Organizers will be creating a list of participating organizations and businesses and will inform those participants of plans via email of plans as they evolve, as well as upcoming deadlines to promote events and activities.
