Make sure you ask Mom if there's something special she'd like when it comes to Mother's Day flowers, according to Merrilee Ganim, of Ganim's Garden Center and Florist.
"She probably knows what she wants."
This year, outdoor planters have been popular requests for Mother's Day orders, as have "designer's choice" bouquets, Ganim said.
Ganim advised that those who order outdoor planters "watch the watering. People tend to over-care."
Ganim's is open daily from 8 am to 6 pm, so last-minute customers can pick up flowers in time for brunch on Sunday.
"We have everything a mother would want -- outdoor plants, indoor flowers, perennials, annuals, tree shrubs, herbs, roses, vegetables," Ganim said.
She stressed the importance of shopping local -- for Mother's Day and any occasion.
