Overnight Car Break-ins Reported in Stratfield Neighborhood

Fairfield police are investigating several thefts that occurred in the Rockland Road/Church Hill Road neighborhood overnight Tuesday in Wednesday.

One Rockland Road resident reported that the front passenger window on his car was smashed and a blue canvas bag, Kindle Fire, Kindle Touch and case, and ear buds were stolen, department spokesperson Sgt. Sue Lussier said.

Another Rockland Road resident reported the front passenger window on her vehicle had also been smashed overnight, and items including a Vera Bradley bag were stolen, according to the report.

An unlocked vehicle on Rockland Road was taken overnight and $3 in change and a red nylon bag were stolen, Lussier said.

On Church Hill Road, a resident reported that an unlocked vehicle parked in the garage had been entered. It was unclear in the report if items were stolen from the car, but there was evidence that the interior had been rifled through.

This is under investigation.
