Plea Deal Reached In DUI Crash Near Sacred Heart University: Report
Six people, five of whom were students at the school, were injured in the 2023 crash.
FAIRFIELD, CT — Tyler Delk, the former Sacred Heart University student accused of causing a crash that injured six people, will serve more than four years in prison after accepting a plea deal on Thursday in connection with the 2023 incident in Fairfield, CT Insider reported.
Delk, 21, of South Orange, New Jersey, smashed an Audi convertible into an Uber, seriously injuring the driver and four SHU students inside. Delk was accused of drunken driving, and was also seriously injured in the late-night crash.

In addition to DUI, Delk was also charged with four counts of second-degree assault with a motor vehicle, and under the plea deal, he reportedly pleaded no contest to the four assault charges. He also pleaded no contest to the DUI charge.
The full plea deal for Delk reportedly calls for a prison sentence of 10 years, suspended after four-and-a-half years served, followed by five years of probation.
