Police Seize Illegal Drugs From 3 Fairfield Smoke Shops
Three people have been arrested by Fairfield police as a result of the seizures.
FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield police seized "a significant quantity of illegal THC products, including vape pens, edibles, pre-rolls, and marijuana" this week from a trio of smoke shops in town, according to authorities.
On Wednesday, Fairfield police detectives and members of multiple state agencies conducted inspections at, and found illegal drugs at, Issam Plus, 92 Post Road; Mohegan Smoke Shop, 525 Tunxis Hill Cutoff; and World Smoke and Cigar Shop, 95 Reef Road.
The inspections were conducted in partnership with the Department of Consumer Protection, Department of Mental Health Services, Department of Labor, and Department of Revenue Services.

"The Fairfield Police Department's Quality of Life Unit seized the illegal contraband, and
investigations into these businesses are ongoing," said Sgt. Michael Stahl in a statement.
As a result of the inspections, the Fairfield police arrested the following individuals:

1. Vivekanand Harilall, 36, employee at World Smoke and Cigar Shop
2. Issam Madineh, 54, owner of Issam Plus
3. Tamer Nafaa, 50, employee at Issam Plus
All three were charged with:
- Sale of a Controlled Substance without a License and
- Possession of Marijuana Over 8 Ounces with Intent to Sell or Distribute
The three were released, and are scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Oct. 8.
"Further arrests are anticipated as the investigation continues," Stahl said, adding that the department thanks the public for "providing valuable tips and information related to" the investigation.
"The department takes community concerns seriously and is actively working to address illegal
activities that affect the safety and quality of life of Fairfield residents," Stahl said. "We encourage the public to continue sharing information to help us maintain the well-being of our community."
