Psychiatrist Arrested On Additional Sexual Assault Charges: Fairfield Police
The suspect was initially arrested in June on similar charges.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Lazaro Pomeraniec, 75, of Westport, was arrested Monday by Fairfield police on two counts of fourth-degree sexual assault, the second time the psychiatrist has been accused of such offenses in as many months.
The new arrest stems from "two separate incidents involving individuals under his psychiatric care," according to Fairfield Police Sgt. Jenna Wellington.
"One of these incidents had already been reported and was under investigation prior to Pomeraniec’s initial arrest on June 24, 2025," Wellington said in a statement. "Following that first arrest, he voluntarily surrendered his medical license."

Pomeraniec was released after posting bond on bail of $200,000, and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Aug. 8.
"The Fairfield Police Department takes all allegations of sexual misconduct seriously and remains committed to investigating such matters fully and professionally," Wellington said.
