Several Major Crashes Reported On Highways In Fairfield County

The crashes and delays are reported along I-95 and the Merritt Parkway. Here's a live update.

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, CT — There were several major crashes and reported delays on the major highways in Fairfield County Tuesday morning, but as we approach noon, most of the major crashes have been cleared.

There are still some delays on I-95 and the Merritt Parkway.

Here is the current status of each crash and or delay as of 11:24 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7:

STAMFORD - Delays. I-95 Southbound is congested between Exits 9 and 5 (3.8 miles). Reported Tuesday, November 7 at 8:09 am.

WESTPORT - I-95 Northbound Exit 17 OFFRAMP CLOSED because of Road Work. Reported Friday, November 3 at 6:00 am.

NORWALK - Delays. RT 15 Southbound is congested between Exits 40A and 35 (5.0 miles). Reported Tuesday, November 7 at 7:01 am.

TRUMBULL - Delays. RT 15 Northbound is congested between Exits 49N and 54 (4.2 miles). Reported Tuesday, November 7 at 8:08 am.


Here is what state police have said about 2 early morning crashes:

#CTtraffic I-95 North at Exit 28 is shutdown for a jackknifed TT. Injuries reported extent is unknown at this time. Please use alternate routes and expect delays.


#CTtraffic I-95 North Exit 5 AND Exit 19 off ramps are closed due to a jackknifed TT at each ramp. No injuries reported. If traveling in the area please use alternate routes and expect delays.
