State Rep Candidate Alexis Harrison Endorsed By CT Independent Party
Harrison is a Republican candidate for the Connecticut General Assembly, 132nd District.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Alexis Harrison, candidate for the General Assembly, 132nd District which encompasses sections of Fairfield and Southport, has been endorsed by the Independent Party of Connecticut. The endorsement underscores Harrison’s commitment torepresenting the voice of all constituents regardless of their political affiliation.
To gain the support of the Independent Party of Connecticut, in part, Harrison answered an in-depth survey, sharing her vision and ideas on issues ranging from the environment, housing, education, ranked-choice voting, spending and taxes, infrastructure and more. Harrison is also endorsed by the Fairfield Republican party.

“It’s a real honor to receive the endorsement of the Independent Party of Connecticut, a party grounded in shepherding common-sense ideas and solutions to address the many issues facing our State,” said Harrison. “Their backing demonstrates my dedication to collaboration and working across the aisle with others – not defining individuals by their party affiliation or where they may or may not stand on a particular issue. As I move forward with our positive campaign, I take the movement of independent thinking with me and finding ways of working together.”
Harrison, a Fairfield native, is serving her second term on the Town Plan & Zoning Commission. She previously served on the Fairfield Representative Town Meeting, the Board of Assessment Appeals and the FairTV Commission. She’s also an active volunteer with Operation Hope and Appalachia Service Project. Harrison is a member and past chair of Fairfielders Protecting Land & Neighborhoods and is co-founder of CT169Strong, a non-partisan statewide advocacy group committed to local control of zoning and finding solutions to addressing Connecticut’s affordability issues. She has been a vocal and proactive advocate on making meaningful reforms to 8-30g, the State’s affordable housing law.

Harrison has three generations of her family currently living in Fairfield and has a deep understanding of issues facing senior citizens, working families and children. She is the proud graduate of Fairfield Public Schools and Sacred Heart University. Professionally, Harrison works for a technology consultancy company as a communications specialist and previously worked as a journalist at various television stations in New York and Connecticut. Her first job out of college was a newspaper reporter at the Fairfield Citizen.
