Two women were arrested on Fiske Street on Saturday after they allegedly engaged in a physical altercation that left both women and a man with minor injuries, police said.

A witness called police to report two women were yelling and fighting on the front lawn of a Fiske Street property. A man -- one of the women's ex-boyfriend -- was attempting to break up the fight, according to the report.

Responding officers discovered the women -- identified as Paulina Lewandowski, 24, of Fiske Street, and Elizabeth Vega, 28, of Putnam Street in Bridgeport -- with visible scratches on both of their faces.

Vega also suffered a swollen lip and her ex-boyfriend had scratches on his neck resulting from attempting to break up the fight, department spokesperson Sgt. Sue Lussier said.

Lewandoski told police that she had filed a protective order against Vega, but Lussier said officers could not find proof of the order. The argument was reportedly about child support. Vega was allegedly standing next to her van with three children inside when the fight broke out outside Lewandowski's residence.

Vega was charged with breach of peace, third-degree assault, and disorderly conduct for "recklessly" involving her ex-boyfriend in the incident, police said. Lewandowski was charged with breach of peace and third-degree assault.

Both women were released at the scene on promises to appear in court on Monday.
