Vandals Spray Paint Graffiti On Road Signs, Poles: Fairfield PD

FAIRFIELD, CT — Vandals recently spray painted multiple road signs and poles in town, according to the Fairfield Police Department.

On Thursday, an officer on patrol said he came across graffiti on Fairfield Woods Road between Melville Avenue and Stratfield Road.

He said they following road signs and poles were targets for the illegal artwork:

• The "no turn on red" sign on Melville Avenue at Fairfield Woods Road - spray painted with the letters "AWCY"
• Walk light/sign at the intersection of Melville Avenue and Fairfield Woods Road - spray painted with the letters "NOID"
• Utility pole #105 on Fairfield Woods Road - spray painted with "OZYS."
• The lane identification sign on Fairfield Woods Road just before the intersection of Stratfield Road - spray painted with the letters "TOY"
• Route 59 sign on Fairfield Woods Roads just before the intersection of Stratfield Road - spray painted with the letters "AWCY"
• AT&T Box #4648 on Fairfield Woods Road just before the intersection of Stratfield Road - spray painted with "OZYS" and "AWCY"
• Frontier Box #103 on SBC Pole #4647 on Fairfield Woods Road just before Stratfield Road - spray painted with "AWCY," "TOY," "NOID," "OZYS."
• Speed limit 35 sign on Stratfield Road in front of Dogwood Apartments - had the "5" spray painted

According to the police department, there are no witnesses at the moment, and officers aren't sure when the vandals actually spray painted the graffiti.
