Westport Murder Suspect Kills Self in Spanish Prison

Robert Andrew Levene, killed himself while in a Spanish prison Thursday, according to a report from the Hartford Courant.

Levene, 41, , was arrested Tuesday in Spain on federal firearm, robbery and murder charges where Levene made off with six diamonds valued at $300,000.

Authorities have not released exactly how the former Army Ranger’s died. Levene, also known as “Robert Thomas,” was being held in an undisclosed Spanish prison awaiting extradition.
