Farmington Announces Thanksgiving Weekend Closures

Thanksgiving is on Thursday, Nov. 28, with several municipal impacts announced.

FARMINGTON, CT — Thanksgiving 2024 is this week, with many area towns announcing impacts on what is closed for the annual, four-day, holiday weekend.

According to the Town of Farmington, all town offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Regular hours of operation will resume on Monday, Dec. 2, at 8:30 a.m.

For residents who have trash and recycling collection by the town's contractor (Waste Material Trucking Co.), there will be a one-day delay, starting with the holiday (Thursday, Nov. 28).

If collection normally falls on Thursday, it will be picked up on Friday. Friday's collection will be picked up on Saturday.

Local schools will dismiss early on Wednesday, Nov. 27, with no school on Thursday and Friday. Normal classes resume on Monday, Dec. 2.
