Farmington Announces Christmas Openings/Closings
Christmas Day is on Thursday, Dec. 25, with many town operations impacted during that time.
FARMINGTON, CT — 'Tis the season to kick back, relax, and enjoy the holiday season.
And with that comes closed schools, closed municipal offices, and general changes in operations hours this time of year.
To that end, Farmington has announced its openings/closings schedule for next week's Christmas holiday.

Farmington officials said town offices will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 25, in observance of the Christmas holiday.
Regular hours of operation will resume on Friday, Dec. 26, at 8:30 a.m.

For residents who have trash and recycling collection by the town's contractor (Waste Material Trucking Co.), there will be a one-day delay, starting with the holiday (Thursday, Dec. 25).
If your collection normally falls on Thursday, it will be picked up on Friday; Friday's collection will be picked up on Saturday.
Also closed are Farmington's two public libraries (Farmington Library and Barney Library), which will both be closed on Wednesday, Dec. 24, and Thursday, Dec. 25.
Farmington Public Schools' winter break starts on Wednesday, Dec. 24, through Friday, Jan. 2, with classes resuming on Monday, Jan. 5.
