Farmington Police Chief Leaving For Job In Avon: Report
Farmington's Chief of Police Paul Melanson told the Hartford Courant that he will become Avon's chief of police in July.
HARTFORD, CT — Farmington Chief of Police Paul Melanson is leaving town to take the same job in Avon, the Hartford Courant reported.
On July 2, the 53-year-old will begin at the Avon Police Department after leading the Farmington Police Department for 13 years, according to the Courant.
Melanson will take over for Jim Rio, a former Farmington police chief who has served as Avon's director of police services since November 2019, according to the newspaper.
