Where can high school seniors celebrate their graduation in a safe, fun environment? Currently, planning is underway for Project Graduation 2013. This event is an all-night, substance-free party for graduating seniors. The venue for this year's Project Graduation is Farmington Farms Tenns & Athletic Club and will be held on June 27, 2013.

The night of graduation, Farmington Farms will be transformed by parents on the decorating committee to showcase the FHS graduating seniors. The event is traditionally attended by almost all seniors and will include entertainment, food, contests and prizes.

Community support is again needed and appreciated. Project Graduation costs approximately $35,000 for the night. If you would like to help us with the event in any way, tax-deductible donations can be mailed to Project Graduation, PO Box 914, Farmington, CT 06034.

Patty Stoddard, co-chair of Project Graduation, states: "Stephanie Caminiti and I are proud to co-chair this important event for our FHS graduates. Since 1984, Farmington High School parents, business and civic organizations have come together to sponsor and organize an all night safe graduation party for our kids. It truly is a community event and one that we are proud to help organize. We could not do this without everyone's help and we are so happy to have the Farmington community support our graduates."

Fundraising efforts by senior parents are also in full swing. On May 21, a portion of the sales of Wood N Tap in Farmington will go to the event. On June 7, a  Rita's Italian Ice fundraiser will be held from 6-9 p.m. Please visit these local restaurants and support Project Graduation.

Once more this year, the popular pink flamingos will be seen around town to support Project Graduation. Please consider sending a flock of our beautiful pink birds to one or more of your friends. Text or call our Flamingo Hotline at 860-830-9700 before 7 p.m. to arrange a delivery.

Farmington High School Project Graduation will ensure there is a safe and fun celebration for the graduating class of 2013. Any questions can be directed to the Project Graduation co-chairs, Patty Stoddard a pstoddard@prudentialct.com or Stephanie Caminiti at scaminiti@comcast.net.
