• New light installed at breakwater off Old Saybrook where 2024 boat crash killed three people (middletownpress.com) — A new 360-degree flashing beacon has been installed on the Old Saybrook breakwater at the mouth of the Connecticut River, right next to Fenwick, to improve boater safety after a 2024 crash there killed three people. Families of the victims and veteran boaters had pushed for better lighting, and officials say the new light should make the busy channel by Fenwick safer at night.
