Bad Asphalt Prompts East Granby Road Re-Do
Work on the fix will start sometime this week, and it could last through the weekend.
EAST GRANBY, CT — A faulty batch of asphalt associated with an East Granby paving project has prompted the contractor to return this week to rectify the issue.
According to the Town of East Granby, the recent paving project on Holcomb Street experienced an issue with defective materials in the topcoat portion of the job.
Work on the fix is expected to begin Wednesday, Sept. 17, and continue through the weekend.

"To ensure the quality our residents deserve, the contractor will be returning to complete corrective work — gutter milling and applying a fresh overlay of pavement on the topcoat," wrote the town's public works department.
This additional work comes at no cost to taxpayers and will restore Holcomb Street to "the standard our community expects," wrote the town.
