Bicyclist Seriously Injured After Crash With Car: Granby Police

A Life Star helicopter was called to the scene, according to police.

GRANBY, CT — A bicyclist was seriously injured after being hit by a car Friday afternoon in Granby, according to police.

Police responded to a report of a crash involving a car and a bicyclist around 2:50 p.m. on West Granby Road (Route 20) at Woodcliff Drive.

The bicyclist was found to have serious injuries and a Life Star helicopter was requested, according to police.

Police said Granby Ambulance Association provided medical care and the Lost Acres Fire Department assisted in the landing of Life Star. The driver of the car wasn’t injured and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.

Police aren’t releasing the names of the people involved at this time.

West Granby Road was closed for several hours and was expected to reopen Friday night.

The crash remains under investigation and any witnesses are asked to call Officer Mike Joseph at 860-844-5335.
