GRANBY, CT — A portion of a busy state route will be closed for the majority of Friday afternoon and possibly into the evening following a single-vehicle crash involving a utility pole.

The crash occurred just before 8 a.m. in the area of 330 North Granby Road, or Route 189. The driver was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

A broken pole and downed wires in the roadway led to closure to the street for most of the day. It is expected to re-open by early evening, police said.
